High School Policy Debate Program (2026–2027)
The South Carolina Debate League's flagship program equips students with the critical thinking, research, public speaking, and advocacy skills needed to succeed in school, college, careers, and civic life.

Through weekly virtual instruction, students learn how to analyze complex policy issues, develop evidence-based arguments, conduct research, and compete in structured debate experiences.

For the 2026–2027 season, students will engage in policy debate centered on the national resolution:

Resolved: The United States federal government should establish national health insurance in the United States.
​
Whether students are new to debate or experienced competitors, the program provides a supportive environment where participants can strengthen communication skills, build confidence, and grow as leaders.

How the Program Works
